“There is no better designer than nature” – Alexander McQueen

Inspired by the types of flowers that open and close in defense or to conserve energy, Studio Drift has created a most magnificent light – the Shylight.

The designers started with the question: How can an inanimate object mimic the metamorphic and adaptive changes of living things and express character and emotion?

The result is simply spectacular. Made of silk and sprins, flexible and ethereal, the result is graceful and majestic. A permanent set of these kinetic pieces has recently been installed at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Simply stunning!
